Rescue your taste buds with a time tested favorite.

    January 28th, 2010

LifeSavers CandyFrankly, Life Savers don’t care if you buy them. Invented in 1912, they have been around for almost a hundred years. When you’ve lasted that long, you know you must be good. They have nothing left to prove.

You probably don’t realize that these candies are called Life Savers because of their unique shape, round with a hole in the middle, which reminded their inventor of the life preservers used to rescue people from drowning. Life Savers are not losing any sleep over your ignorance. As far as they are concerned, it’s your loss.

In fact, Life Savers are just like those guys who work at lifeguards on the beach in the summer. They know they are cool. They’ll be there for you when you need them, and if you don’t, they don’t care. They just sit up there, calm and collected, looking down on the boring crowd, knowing they are special.

Maybe you haven’t thought about Life Savers Candies lately. They don’t mind - they’ve gotten along fine without your appreciation for ninety-eight years. But maybe you should wonder - are YOU the one who’s missing something?

    Sweet Holidays:

    December 29th, 2009

It is definitely the sweetest, most wonderful time of the year.  The candy canes, hearing the kids singing carols, giving you that sweet Christmas cheer.  Get togethers with family and friends.  It is the sweetest season of the year!

Problems disappear.  You get home and can’t open the door.  Your neighbor passes by, greeting you in that way we only see at this time of year.  You smile and greet him back.  He stops, comes back and helps you with your bags.  After opening the door, you pull out a chocolate bar from one of the bags and give it to him, making him smile even more.  What else could happen?  You go in, turn on the lights, and there you go, a dream come true.  Your living room is decorated with bells, candy canes, wreaths, stockings, angels, everything made of candy and chocolate!  Even your Christmas tree decorations are made of sweets!

Maybe it’s all a dream, maybe not, but it doesn’t matter how you say it, “Happy Holidays”, “Season’s Greetings”, or “Merry Christmas”, sweets will make hearts glow this season!!

Brighten a winter day with Orange Tic Tacs

    December 25th, 2009

    Tic Tac Mints Orange

I always get a craving for oranges at this time of year. There’s no other good fruit in season, and they’re full of that vitamin C that you need right now, what with people sneezing all those cold and flu germs on you in crowded places. And it’s a bright sunshiney flavor to perk up the long, dark, gray days.

But… oranges are so much trouble. Sure, it’s an amazing little package that nature has given them, but it’s so much work to peel it off. The really tasty ones have pits that you have to pick out or spit out, and what about those nasty stringy white bits? Ick. And no matter how you attack them, you end up with gunky sticky hands.

Well, the good news is that there’s a way to soothe that orange craving in the least messy way possible: with Tic Tacs. Like an orange, orange flavor Tic Tacs come in a neat little package, but this one opens with just the flick of a finger. The little hard candies inside won’t make your hands sticky, so with no worries about trash to throw out - not even a wrapper - or washing up, you can eat them on the go.

So, get your orange fix by clicking here to order. And we promise we won’t tell your mom.

Numero Uno - The Dentyne Blast Story

    November 27th, 2009

Dentyne Blast GumThree friends run into each other just before going into a party.

“so, what did you get J for his birthday?”

“this year I know I got him the best present, a box of 10 packages of Dentyne Blast Winter Chill Sugarfree Gum. You know, he’s always trying to be in good shape and all.  And these center filled gums are really a blast!”

“winter chill?” said the second guy “with this weather?!   no way man, I got him a box of Dentyne Blast Chocomints, he’s definitely going to like those better… and how about you?” asking the third guy

“well, I got him one box of Dentyne Blast Winter Chill gums, one box of Dentyne Blast Chocomint gums, and one box of Dentyne Blast Cool Lime Sugarfree Gums, I put a couple of packages of each flavor into one box, and kept the other two boxes for myself…  see, THAT is a great gift for numero uno!”

Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum - It Was Close!

    November 12th, 2009

I ran into a couple of friends on my way to the supermarket. “What’s up?”…

I was enjoying my chewing gum so much that it took me a moment to reply.

    “Fine…”

but then I remembered, I only had one more peace of gum left. What to do? Impossible to concentrate on the conversation, the only thing on my mind was “don’t chew, don’t chew! or they’re going to ask you for your last strip of Wrigley’s Doublemint Chewing gum!”

    Too late.

One of them said “can I have one of those?”.

    .. think, think!… got it!

When taking out my pack of Wrigley’s Doublemint Chewing Gum Sticks, I left that one piece fall into my pocket without them noticing. I said (with a very convincing voice) “oops! sorry, I’ve got no more”. After a couple of minutes I said goodbye and resumed my way to the supermarket. I put the last piece of gum in my mouth, walking away with a smile!

    Black Jack Gum: Endangered Species?

    November 5th, 2009

BlackJack Chewing GumWhy chew gum? Admit it. You are a person who is so easily bored that
even when you’re not hungry, your mouth needs something to do.

Well, if you’re that easily bored, did you ever think about those gum
flavors? Sure, it seems like there are so many, but take a look at
that impulse-purchase display next time you’re in line at the supermarket: Fruit, fruit, mint, fruit… ooh, fruit COMBINED with mint, big whoop. Mint, mint, fruit. Yawn.

You’re bored just reading about it, right? Now you want to try something new and different. Well, how about something OLD and different: Black Jack Chewing Gum. This licorice flavored gum is not only a totally different kind of taste, it’s a piece of history. Invented in 1884, it was the first flavored gum and the first gum made in sticks.

But like so many old wonderful things, sadly, only a select few appreciate its charms, so at some points, they’ve stopped manufacturing it completely. Now it’s only available once in a while, and who knows - if enough people don’t buy it now, it may go extinct completely. Click on the link to buy and help save Black Jack for
    future generations!

That Sad Cry: “Where Can I Buy Coconut M&Ms?”

    November 2nd, 2009

M&M's CoconutRemember the good old days? When every citizen had the right to eat chocolate that melted in their mouth, but not in their hand - as long as it was Plain or Peanut?

Nah, neither do I. That boring black-and-white world has been replaced by one where we see wildly different M&M’s come and go in flavors like Cherry, Mocha and Mint, that our ancestors could only dream of.

There’s only one sad thing about this exciting new world: some of these flavors are limited editions. Coconut M&Ms, released this summer, have resulted in an Internet full of blog posts by people who are willing to trade their grandmothers or their first-born children for the answer to the question “where can I buy Coconut M&Ms?

The good news: Your family is safe, because we’ve got those Coconut babies right here, and we don’t want your granny. Click on the link and pull out your credit card instead. This isn’t the 20th century, when you could still have the same candy in the nursing home that you had in your kindergarten class, so snap them up now!

Candies in Bars: 3 Tips to Shake Things up

    June 26th, 2009

Bars thrive on attracting the right crowd. When you’ve successfully done so, the next big challenge is to make sure that they stay loyal to your bar and hopefully they can bring in more of their friends as time goes by.

Updating your drink list, menu and music library is expected; you have to go the extra mile to make sure you’re ahead of the game. Be extra sensitive to the changing wants and needs of your niche to help you consistently introduce something new and exciting. Make sure you stay aligned with regard to fresh concepts and your patrons’ psyche.

Here are 3 simple candy tips to start with. Make sure you get feedback, so you can improve your offerings.

    1. Not-so-serious cocktails for early hours

No matter how much people try to arrive late, there will be at least a handful who will arrive earlier than the rest of their friends. Offer them your “light” drinks list, so that they have something to keep them busy without making them tipsy TOO early. Read the rest of this entry »

3 Easy Tips to Help You Express Your Feelings

    June 26th, 2009

It’s annoying how your body chooses to be nervous and you get tongue-tied when you need to get something important off your chest. Stage fright is one thing, but honestly expressing how you feel is another.

Although the paper clip theory could work well for a speech or presentation in front of a panel or crowd, opening up your self to one person that is very close to you requires a different strategy. Below are 3 tips that you can consider before barging through the door in tears.

    1. Know what you want to say

The difficulty comes with a negative emotion—sadness, disappointment, anger, grief, and at some point, it even includes apologies. Whether it’s about the person you wish to talk to, or you just want to share things that are going bad for you right now, it takes guts to open up your self for emotions. Make Apologies Easier with Candies

    May 17th, 2009

Hershey's Cookies 'N' CremeSo you messed up and someone is upset. Although you’re confident that what you did is something forgivable, you should still make an apology to acknowledge your mistakes and make your friend, colleague, or your family feel better. I’m sure you’ll also feel better as soon as you get it off your chest.

You want to do the right thing and apologize, but it’s not always that easy. Nervousness and emotions can get in the way and make you seem insincere even if you really mean it in your heart. To make sure you come through, just follow the tips below.

    1. Make sure you understand the mistake you’ve made

Knowing that you did something wrong is a good first step. Knowing exactly what you did and how it affected others is maturity on a higher level—this is what makes the apology sincere. Start with “I’m sorry,” followed by “for…” Acknowledge the damage that your actions have caused, and say that you’ll make a conscious effort to correct your mistake. Make sure you follow through with the last one. Read the rest of this entry »
